Strike
Background: Here's an episode from Elisha's life. He asked the king of Israel Jehoash, to bring his bow and arrow with him and shoot out the east window. Then a strange test, Elisha asked the king to take the arrows and strike the ground. "He struck it three times and stopped. 19 The man of God was angry with him and said, "You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times." Lesson: Elisha was disappointed and rather angry with the king of Israel, to have not shown diligence in striking the ground. The enemy is not a friend. We've got to have passion for the victory-My prize is to see all my loved ones entering into the kingdom of God, young and old. Jesus wanted His home in heaven filled with All of His loved ones, and for that cause, He diligently persevered and didn't dilly dally in making the utmost sacrifice, a filthy rag like me should have never deserved. How desperately do I love my loved ones to be so moved that I sincerely did something about it.
An episode from my life-My brother Abraham, had been sidetracked for a long number of years, did all the things wrong that we could have possibly thought of. Whenever I went home from college for my summer vacations, I would be broken hearted to see the amount of pain my parents were going through because of his behaviour. In my final year in June when I went home I was soooooooo agitated by the entire atmosphere at home, I couldn't stand it any longer. For the first time in my life, I felt indignation rise up inside of me against the evil one trying to take away my brother, and I prayed the longest and most sincere prayer I had ever prayed with tears and longing and agonising, with my parents. From that day on I continued to pray for my brother every day, with my best friend Mary, at college. Then in October, my brother called me at college (he had never talked to me properly before that) and the first thing he said was "I want you to pray for me right now". Now in our hostel the phone would be in a common area where everyone would come and hang out, I felt awkward but I wasn't going to let go of the opportunity I had found. I prayed. My brother listened quietly on the other end, without so much as a word. At the end of the prayer, he said "I am feeling so much better now". By the end of that year in December my brother went for a Holy Convocation through our church and was baptised in water and gave his life to the Lord. I met him on the 31st of December and my heart was sooooooooo overjoyed to meet him, like having a brand new brother. Beautiful, peaceful, humble, loving caring, wanting to share of God's love. Now during his wayward days, he had destroyed his career and after 5 yrs from that incident, God has blessed him with a wonderful job now and he is doing so well. He recently received an award for being a good employee, in the 1st month of his work!!!
Yes I struck the arrow 1 time, 2 times and definitely 3 times like the Israelite king and I was going to give up, when I read this chapter from 2 Kings 13 and God's Word encouraged me, not to give in like the king did and to keep on striking the enemy with the sword of the Word of God until he is completely destroyed.
Conclusion: I encourage you my brother my sister, to not give up, but to keep on. If we've become luke warm, lets ask the Lord to ignite the fire of Holy desire in our hearts, that we may win souls into the kingdom of God, no matter how difficult the situation may look, we've got a Saviour Who can sympathise with us, because He has been there and He never gave up, even when I didn't deserve it, he went ahead and hung on the cross for me. Let's take up our crosses, for His yoke is easy, let's work with passion for the one thing that pleases God, to be united with His loved ones. Us and our families. God's family.

Life's Not Normal...
I have been wondering quite a lot about my life lately. Why is it different?
I started thinking from the beginning of time, when God called Noah....all this while Noah was having a "normal" life...like all others, until one day when, "Genesis 6:13 God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth." Not only this, but that he had to build a boat...uh..on land!!!. Life didn't remain normal for him from that day on...
Then we read of Abraham, he must have been having a "normal" life at home with his parents and relatives in Us, until one day "Genesis 12:1[ The Call of Abram ] The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you." Little did this man know that God meant what He said and that, this decision would change his life and the life of his descendants forever and we know what we have because of this our "faith" ancestor.
Then Joseph..another little boy who's life changed at the age of 13 when he shared, the dream God gave him. His own brothers sold him as slave to another country, but God had not abandoned this boy, God meant to keep the promise made to him through a dream. Joseph's life did not remain normal anymore.
Then there was Moses, from the day he was born, God had chosen him to represent and lead His people. The day God met him at the burning bush, his life did not remain normal...he was to go stand before the pharoah and demand God's people be set free and lead them to the promised land. He did not have the normal life from the day he took up his duties given by God.
Then another little boy, a shepherd boy, his life changed from the normal, when the man of God Samuel approached him and anointed him (in spite of there being a king in Israel, Saul, at that time) according to God's command. ...
Moving on to the latter times in the Bible, Saul- he thought he was doing a good thing by killing the Christians..until the time Acts 9:4 "He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"...and then his life did not remain "normal" anymore.
Whatever we think of as a "normal" life, does not remain normal anymore when our God enters in, it does not make sense until God's full plan is revealed. It makes no sense at all when you're just starting or halfway in the plan, but until the end is revealed. The world has fallen drastically so God has to change people's lives drastically for us to come out of our "normal" lives and appreciate the pleasant and perfect will of God, which only God can explain....in the end. Does it make sense that Jesus, God's only Son had to die for people who didn't know Him, was that big a sacrifice needed? We know it did, and was a valuable thing for us. Our lives, no matter how abnormal it may seem, no matter how inexplicable certain turns in life may seem, God knows the outcome of it all and He knows it is beautiful. For Noah, he saved his entire family from flood, as well as the creatures of the earth on that boat. For Joseph, he saved his family from famine and the people of Egypt during drought. For Moses, his life brought deliverance for the Israelites from Egypt. For David, a throne was established for the Israelites, that which would never lack a king...and would be the predecessor of the Great and Mighty King to come. For Jesus, his life became the cause of Salvation for the entire human kind.

Strength

Increase my faith Lord, I want to believe,
Tides of doubst seem rising high
Draw me closer to you Lord, come nigh
Though this time is bitter
I know my Saviour will help me through
I don't know Lord what today/tomorrow might bring
All I know is I have You.
I long to hear your resounding voice,
Speaking forth through my soul,
Bursting joy in hope I arise,
Only You oh Lord can make me whole.
Be near me Lord today I pray
right now, this moment and every day
my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak
Uphold me Lord, Your face I seek.
Great things Oh Lord You're capable of
I know this trouble is not my lot,
For You took all my burdens, my shame, my pain, my sorrow away
When on Calvary Your precious life You laid.
Show me Lord, Your tender mercies
Show me Lord from Your grand miracles
Show me Lord what I must pray
Show me Lord how You've planned my days
You are my author, my architect of life
You give me joy, your peace, your light
I thank You Lord for breathing in me,
Your power, your strength and Your victory
In the Name of my Lord Jesus. Amen

Awesome God
According Quartermaster General in the Army, it is reported that Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each day. Do you know that to bring that much food each day, 2 freight trains each idles a mile long, would be required!Besides you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would have to have firewood to use in the cooking the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains each a mile long, just for one day. And just think they were forty years in transit and oh yes, they would have to have water. If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11000000 gallons each day and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles long just to bring water! And then another thing, they had to get across the Red Sea at night. Now if they went on a narrow path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would required 35 days and nights to get through. So there had to be a space in the Red Sea, 3 miles wide so that they could walk 5000 abreast to get over in one night. But then there is another problem....Each time they camped at the end of the day, a campground two-thirds the size of the state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles long-think of it!This much space for camping. Do you think Moses figured all this out before he left Egypt? I think not! You see, Moses believed in God. God took care of these things for him. Now do you think God has any problem taking care of all your needs?

The 'Son' is shining up here

In our walk with God, sometimes the issues of life seem so insurmountable that we might feel this problem is never going to leave us. We might even start living with it. But you know when we keep believing in the Word of God and what God has to say about our situation and continue to press on, we will get onto the other side and find that the sun was always shining. If our captain of the aircraft would not have kept the plane climbing, we would have been flying through thick clouds the whole time, but I am glad he did. He continued to press on and let the plane climb until it was above the clouds, not just one layer of clouds, but 2 layers!!! (Yeah we went through 2 large layers of clouds). Its so, when we're believing God for a miracle, the Son is always shining up there. The captain was so sure that the clouds wouldn't be that thick and went on. Our Captain Lord Jesus, also knows for sure that the problems are only seemingly gloomy from down here, but not when you're up there, the real thing is, the sun is always shining, the clouds are temporary, the sun is permanent. God is always there, whether we can see Him or not. The hope is always full , whether we're hopeful or not. The faith will bring the victory, when we have the faith to go on higher with our Captain Lord Jesus. Psalm 91:1 says "1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a] "
Wow, thats the most beautiful thing I ever read, when we dwell in the shelter of the Most High, constantly building out fellowship with our God, constantly making an effort to remain in Him, no matter what, then we will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Not the shadow of the clouds of darkness and gloom, but the shadow of the Almighty.....and so ..."2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
Lesson:
Dear People of God, we belong to a Living God and to His Kingdom. Did you know what Jesus said to the people who were not believing when He did the miracles, when they told Him that He was casting out diseases using evil spirit..Matthew 12:28 (Whole Chapter) "But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. " And we know Jesus did drive out demons by the Spirit of God and so we know the kingdom of God has come...and to those who believe, the secret of the kingdom of God has been given(Mark 4:11). Everything that we would ever need to overcome the cloudsof troubles in our life is in the Word of God, if only we will fuel ourselves and press on to build up our faith in God and know for sure and prove that "In God We Trust".
The outcome of it all.....Romans 10:11 (Whole Chapter) As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." [ Isaiah 28:16]
Romans 9:33 (Whole Chapter) As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." [ Isaiah 8:14; 28:16]
1 Peter 2:6 (Whole Chapter) For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." [ Isaiah 28:16]
So if there is something in your life, you're trusting God for, hold onto God as He takes you higher in fellowship with Him, up there spiritually where there is never a shadow of the cloud of doubt, but in the shadow of the Almighty and stay strong, because, YOU WILL NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME or LET DOWN FOR TRUSTING THE LORD.So take strength in the power of our Living God and His navigation of our life.

Lean on Him(Jesus our Lord)
Lean on Him, He'll guide your way
When danger lurks around you
Lean on Him, He'll protect you.
When you're trusting on His promises
Lean on Him He'll prove it in surprises
When you're down by the dumps and no one cares..
Lean on Him, He'll be there.
When reaching for God's highest
Lean on Him to shine the brightest.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
I am going to North Carolina today...will be back in 2 or 3 days. Till then take care my readers and always remember, God's heart is always open for you.
Jesus Loves you and desires to increase your fellowship with Him. There is no force on earth or in the heaven to separate you from the Love of God. The only one who can separate you from God's Love is "you". Its upto you, how much you want God to take care of you. The Almighty God, the Living God, the Creator of the universe and so much more.
God Bless.

The Lord and I
with a life thats yielded so
knowing that awesome plan is almost here
I missed some stuff in between, but not anymore
No one else knows the secrets between you and me
The wonderful plans you have for me
For a while I had gone astray,
I thought my dreams would fade away
But you caught me in my fall
and made everything beautiful in my life and all
I cherish the promises you give
I'm grateful for your power to forgive
If it wasn't for your kindness and love
I don't think I would have ever come this far above
I love you Lord, now more than before
For all the times, you've been faithful
In never letting me go
Oh I'm excited with my life when its with you
You hold it and mould it..to the best it can be
Thank you Lord for loving me.

Why is it difficult to have faith?

I had been thinking about this throughout my trip, especially when I boarded the plane. I was wondering, how easily we put our faith on the pilot of an aircraft with our lives. We trust our belongings and our life and our destination. We do not go and check with the airlines or the pilot if he really did finish his pilot course and was he/she successful. However when it comes to trusting God, we find it sooooo difficult.
Yesterday as we flew back from Florida to NJ, there was a lot of turbulence at about 38989 feet above ground at 545mph . I was a bit afraid, the seat belts weren't turned off soon after take off, as it usually was supposed to. I thought to myself, I know the pilot on this plane is trying to adjust the speed and the height of the plane in a such a manner that we may have a jitter free flight. After travelling for about 1 hour or so, Captain announced that this was the best stability he could establish, and had turned off the seat belt sign, however he also suggested that it would be better if we remain in our seats. The captain had to drop down a few feet and slow down a bit to get the plane to stabilise, at 35800 ft, and 454mph. I had felt every bit of adjustment the captain made, the plane trying to go faster or trying to go lower...everything.
Throughout this ordeal, though a little inconvenient, I reached my destination safely. I had trusted the captain and not panicked, not complained , not worried.
Now, I am inside the plane of my life, I can be a pilot too, however I have chosen Jesus Christ be the captain of this plane. He makes certain adjustments to the plane every now and then, to make the flight as comfortable as possible for me.Yeah, there have been times in my flight when I have carried prohibited items , which cause unnecessary load in the plane, however through it all, He has brought me safe thus far. I know we have a long way to go, and there would be turbulence too, the question is how far am I willing to trust Him, to help me ascend closer to His place.
We trust a man we do not know at all, to be the captain of our plane, we trust a group of people to take us and our luggage to our destination, people who cannot predict what can happen during a flight, they can only take precaution. How much more should we trust and omnipotent, pminipresent, omniscient God, who is able to do over and exceedingly abundantly, beyond all that we could ask or think, according to His riches and glory. Well I may not be able to, "always" explain the ups and downs of my flight, but I know the one whom I have trusted.

Growing - Child

I remember the first day when I met Jesus, what a wonderful time we had. That went on for a couple of years. However as I grew in the knowledge of God I somewhere lost the knowledge of what I was in God's eyes.
I watched a father and son playing yesterday. The child was about 3-4 yrs old and was running around in his wobbly steps, his dad was pretending to chase him and they both were having a real good time. Now, the same child a few years later would just go on with his friends and maybe forget to think of his dad. Later would be married and start thinking about his family and wife etc......I am sure the time they had yesterday they will never have when the child is 20-30 or 50 yrs old. The older human beings get, the lesser we tend to relate and spend time with our parents, because we have our own agendas, because we're grown ups-little do we think that no matter how old we become we'll still be children to our parents.
The same is true for our spiritual life, the more we grow in the Lord, the more we start thinking "Oh I know this Lord, I know that Lord, I've read this verse before..." and tend to decrease our fun times with the Lord. We no longer go to God with the same enthusiasm as we did when we first met him. No longer, does living with our Lord Jesus excite us to the point of utter joy and laughter. Why? I guess somewhere in that growing we forgot, that God is still our Heavenly Father. He still thinks of us as His little children, still expects the same giggles and joys we used to have when we were new borns. Still waits for us to totally depend upon Him for all our needs, still waits for us to sit and have a time of enjoyment with Him, still waits to hear our voice reading the Word of God as if it was a brand new book. Waits to explain new things to us from His Word, even if it be the same verse or chapter.Waits for us to go running to him for every silly reason like children do.
As is written in Matthew 18:1-4 "1At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" 2He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. "
The key to enjoying our relationship with God is to be His child, so what if we're 99yrs old in earth years, God is still our Daddy.
How much of a Daddy does God want to be for us? Isaiah 46:3-4 answers that
4 Even to your old age and gray hairs

Encouraged to Pray
Read on to be blessed as I was....
This beautiful story was written by a doctor who worked in South Africa . One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive; as we had no incubator we had no electricity to run an incubator). We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber perishes easily in tropical climates). "And it is our last hot water bottle!" she exclaimed. As in the West, it is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugstores down forestpathways. "All right," I said, "put the baby as near the fire as you safely can, and sleep between the baby and the door to keep it free from drafts. Your job is to keep the baby warm." The following noon , as I did most days, I went to have prayers with any of the orphanage children who chose to gather with me. I gave the youngsters. various suggestions of things to pray about and toldthem about the tiny baby. I explained our problem about keeping the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water bottle, and that the baby could so easily die if it got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old sister, crying because her mother had died. During prayer time, one ten -year old girl, Ruth, prayed with the usual blunt conciseness of our African children. "Please, God" she prayed, "Send us a hot water bottle today. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the baby will be dead, so please send it this afternoon." While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer, she added, "And while You are about it, would You please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You really love her?" As often with children's prayers, I was put on the spot. Could I honestly say, "Amen"? I just did not believe that God could do this. Oh, yes, I know that He can do everything, the Bible says so. Butthere are limits, aren't there? The only way God could answer this particular prayer would be by sending me a parcel from the homeland. I had been in Africa for almost four years at that time, and I had never, ever, received a parcel from home. Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel, who would put in a hot water bottle? I lived on the equator! Halfway through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the nurses' training school, a message was sent that there was a car at my front door. By the time I reached home, the car had gone, but there, on the verandah, was a large twenty-two pound parcel. I felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not open the parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage children. Together we pulled off the string, carefully undoing each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to tear it unduly. Excitement was mounting. Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the large cardboard box. From the top, I lifted out brightly colored, knitted jerseys. Eyes sparkled as I gave them out. Then there were the knitted bandages for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a little bored. Thencame a box of mixed raisins and sultanas - we would use them to make a batch of buns for the weekend. Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt the ... could it really be? I grasped it and pulled it out. Yes, a brand new, rubber, hot water bottle. I cried. I had not asked God to send it; I had not truly believed that He could. Ruth was in the front row of the children. She rushed forward, crying out, if God has sent the bottle, He must have sent the dolly too!" Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled out the small, beautifully dressed dolly. Her eyes shone! She had never doubted! Looking up at me, she asked: "Can I go over with you and give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll know that Jesus really loves her?" Of course,I replied! That parcel had been on the way for five whole months. Packed up by my former Sunday school class, whoseleader had heard and obeyed God's prompting to send a hot water bottle, even to the equator. And one of the girls had put in a dolly for an African child - five months before, in answer to the believing prayer of a ten-year-old to bring it "that afternoon"Before they call, I will answer" (Isaiah 65:24) When you receive this, say the prayer, that's all you have to do. No strings attached. Just send it on to whomever you want - but do send it on. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue praying for one another. This awesome prayer takes less than a minute. Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this. I ask You to minister to their spirit. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy.Where there is self doubting, release a renewed confidence to work through them. Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, guidance, and strength as they learn submission to Your leading. Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You. Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage. Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it and break its hold over my friend's life. Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise-up leaders and friends to support and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the evil forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it. I ask You to do these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

My Prayer will be fulfilled
Here's how I see it A Boat Builder with Noah, Faith Builder in Abraham, Checking Deception with Jacob, Rags to Riches in Joseph, Murderer to Leader through Moses, Timid to Bold through Joshua.
What stands out is, whatever God said, He fulfilled. All His promises to these people I mentioned were fulfilled. Totally.
Wow, now that I see their life. I know in my life too, I have received promises from my Lord, surely, what He has promised He will do.And so it is for you too.
Praise the Lord.

Seeing what I'm Believing
Yesterday we went Movie shopping at our local movie rental store. I like watching old english movies. Now while I was looking to find something for family and fun, my husband was out looking for his own taste of movies.
Let me give you a little background here. My husband loves Jesus, but he doesn't know Jesus as His personal Saviour, for him Jesus is just another God. Now don't worry, God has promised me, I've got to do what I've got to do and He will do what He has to do, so I rest in His plans for my life and they are good.
My Lord told me 2 things
- 1Peter 3:1,2 "Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2when they see the purity and reverence of your lives"
- Jeremiah 16:21 "Therefore I will teach them— this time I will teach them my power and might. Then they will know that my name is the LORD."
My hubby likes to show me things that are wrong with the Christians-(for e.g. some christian kids or family having christian names and then using very foul language, or with the church(for e.g. every church seems to be talking about the same Jesus yet they're all at war with each other) and things like that. I used to try to answer him in all these but not any more , after God told me to keep quiet and let Him talk. So I did and God's at work.
So now at this movie shop, my husband picks up a movie which says "The Perfect Stranger" and about some lawyer trying to prove the perfect stranger she met is not Jesus and things like that. I thought to myself "Oh God-not again, this time he's really found something to tell me more about. How much more do I have to listen to these false arguments when I know you are Lord and you are God. What should I do? Should I refuse this movie---but if I do, what will he think? ". I was in a very good mind to refuse it and I showed him the March of the Penguins or something. Then I reluctantly agreed to rent that movie. Once I said "Ok lets take this" I felt a great peace in my mind and the Spirit of the Lord said "Trust me on this one- I am working" and in my heart I said "Ok Lord"
I did not insist on putting on that movie, so we put the DVD on, a day after we rented it. I was amazed at the questions the lawyer lady in the movie asks Jesus, they were exactly the same ones he had asked me all the time. So I am now Hoping and Waiting..for the outcome...my victory is on its way.
Just thought I'd let you know. God Bless and Jesus is on the throne seated at the right hand of the Father listening to every prayer of His children who're ready and willing to obey His voice.
God Bless
